One of the challenges faced by every person who wants to move down the road to internet success is selecting a niche. In fact all work can come to a stop is you just cannot decide on a niche. Your niche needs to be in an area or topic that you know. If not there is much study and research to be done before you can even begin. Your niche also needs to be an area with many potential buyers who have a compelling need and the money to purchase your product or service when it addresses that need.
You’ve probably already brainstormed a huge list of potential niches. In fact maybe you’ve already narrowed the list down to the one special niche that you know is perfect for you. Then the time comes to begin writing and you cannot think of a single topic to write about. You sit there staring at a blank piece of paper or a blank computer screen and wonder why you ever thought about trying your hand at the road to internet success. But don’t give up just yet. There are steps to take to help get things started again.
Are you still at a loss for a topic? Don’t despair, as there are many methods for creating a list of potential topics. By far the best method is to ask your list. After all, these readers have taken action to gain entry onto your list. It might have been to subscribe to a newsletter, to obtain a free item, or they may have made a purchase. In all cases there is some level of interest in you and your product. In all cases these are the people who will take you down the road to internet success.
Create a simple survey to gain a better understanding. Ask them to tell you what compelling problems they are facing as a part of that survey. Ask them about the topics they are interested in obtaining more information about and why they are seeking more information. These are the people who you should always look to first when you are seeking this type of information.
You can also look to on-line at forums or blogs in your niche. Examine the types of questions that are being asked. You will not believe the number of ideas that are just sitting there waiting for you! Printed and online magazines and newspapers are also a great source of current ideas. You will be able to gather ideas about the most current topics and trends. You can also gain an understanding of problems and questions that people have. Your information products can address those problems and answer those questions.
Knowing and then responding to the most current compelling problems will go a long way toward getting you on the road to internet success.
