Coregistration is a good way to jumpstart your list building. Basically it is when a group of Ezines or newsletter publishers get together and present the potential subscriber with a form for multiple subscriptions. The form has little check boxes against the brief descriptions of each ezine. The reader has the choice of checking the boxes for the ezine he wants to sign up for.
There are a few things to look for when you decide to try for this list building technique:
Do not join a coregistration group that has too many newsletters. The more newsletters there are the more competition and you will lesson your chances of getting people to sign up for your newsletter. So just join with a few select quality newsletters.
Make sure your descriptions are enticing. Remember your little invitation must stand out from the rest. The better your description, the more subscribers you will gather. Again think what your potential customers will need and want, then describe some of the ways your newsletter can help them. This will encourage them to subscribe to your newsletter.
Try to be sure the other newsletters are complimentary to your business and not your competitors. If the other newsletters compliment what you are selling then it will be another incentive for people to subscribe. It is not a good idea to have your newsletter listed under unrelated topics.
When used correctly, coregistration can be a quick and powerful way to build your list in a short period of time and for little or no cost.
