How I Make Money for College Using Affiliate Marketing

After my first year of college, I was in a desperate situation. My scholarship money had run out, and the part time job I was working was only just going to cover my living expenses, let alone other things like gas, books and of course beer. With my course study load and work, I barely had enough time to work and attend classes, and certainly not enough time to take on a second job.
So I started looking for ways to make money online. On the advice of some guys from college, I signed up with a few survey sites. I was able to make about 20 bucks from each site, which was a great help, but the time I had to invest vs. the profit was just not working out, plus surveys and offers get pretty boring after a while. I noticed, that one of the sites offered a referral program, where you get people to sign up through a link you email to them, and if the join the site you earn a percentage of whatever they earn. After a quick email to all the other poor kids in my dorm, and a few posters printed out and pinned up around campus, within a week I had earned 200 dollars!
This success was not to last, as everyone eventually filled out all the offers available and I ran out of people to send the link to. However, this model of making cash intrigued me, so I investigated it further. This is how I came across Affiliate Marketing.
Working on the same principle, with Affiliate Marketing you get people to buy products through your referral link, and you earn a commission on the sale. Where this differs from the survey sites is the commissions you make are up to 90 percent, and the stuff you can promote can sell from anywhere around 10 bucks to thousands of dollars.
I signed up with clickbank, found some stuff to promote and started building sites, writing articles and blogs and free classified ads with my link in them. Slowly but surely, traffic began to trickle in, and I began to make sales! After making 400 dollars in my first month, I joined an Internet Marketing community called Wealthy Affiliate. Using the tutorials and advice I got from there, I made 1000 dollars in my second month.
Fast forward to now, and I’m making a sold 2500-3000 a month, all with affiliate marketing. I no longer work my part time job, do all my work from home in a couple of hours a day, and have plenty of time for study and homework, and plenty of cash for living and other fun things.
Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make cash and I’d recommend it to any student. The concepts are not hard to get your head around and most anyone with the smarts to get into college shouldn’t have any trouble grasping them. The trick is persistence and patience, and a bit of hard work at the start to get things going. The help from joining a community like Wealthy Affiliate is invaluable too, but if you can’t afford it right away it’s not totally necessary.
As a way to show how thankful I am for how Affiliate Marketing changed my life, I’ve now started a blog and website to help students get started with Affiliate Marketing. If you are reading this and are interested, feel free to click the link below and check it out.
